OS-01 FACE SPF (OS-01 SHIELD) is not water-resistant, despite being perfect for everyday use for most lifestyles. For activities involving swimming or sweating, we recommend using a water-resistant sunscreen instead.

On the other hand, OS-01 FACE SPF (OS-01 SHIELD) is a broad-spectrum sunscreen that has passed the Broad Spectrum Test as per FDA Regulations in 21 CFR 201.327(j). Furthermore, it is rated PA+++, indicating that it provides high UVA protection.

To receive the SPF indicated on the label, it is recommended to apply 2 mg of the product per square centimeter of surface area. For most people, this translates to a little less than ¼ teaspoon for the face alone.

Regarding reapplication, it is advised to apply OS-01 FACE SPF (OS-01 SHIELD) liberally to the face (and neck and chest, if desired) as the last step in your skincare routine, 15 minutes before sun exposure. Reapplication should occur at least every two hours.

Based on consumer testing and a perception study conducted by a third-party research organization, the non-tinted and tinted formulations of OS-01 FACE SPF (OS-01 SHIELD) are said to blend seamlessly into most skin tones. However, individuals with darker skin tones may prefer the tinted version, as 100% mineral formulas can sometimes leave a slight white cast.
